Here is a beautiful wood and stone chalet built in the 1930s in the Haute Savoie area of the Plateau dAssy close to the Chamonix ski resorts. It is also 5 minutes to the local family resort of PlaineJoux and 15 minutes to St Gervais. This chalet was used until 2 years ago as an auberge, or inn, with both a restaurant and rooms to let. It is currently used as a family home but could easily be turned back into a restaurant, especially as the town happens to be lacking in this area and the fact that it is situated in a popular yearround tourist area.

The Old Post Office is located in Compton, a popular village to the south of Didcot. Formally the village Post Office, the house has been thoughtfully refurbished to combine both contemporary fixtures and traditional features. The master bedroom boasts a double height ceiling and original beams, as does the sitting room which also has a delightful Inglenook fireplace. The kitchen overlooks the garden and benefits from an Aga. For those needing extra living space, there is a two roomed annexe adjoining the main house, with its own cloakroom. The gardens are beautifully presented and the property sits in over a third of an acre. The Old Post Office has private parking and is surrounded by mature shrubs and trees. The property is extremely well located being just moments from the village amenities. A greater selection of amenities can be found in Wantage, Newbury and Didcot, including both Waitrose and Sainsbury’s supermarkets. There is a good selection of independent and state schools in the area. Access to large towns in the area is good, and motorways and Heathrow Airport are easily accessible via the A34 and M4. We love our home, we have been here for 8 years and have totally refurbished it since buying from the original owner who moved in when the house was built in 1932. The house had not been touched by builders before we moved in and so we had a blank sheet to work with. It is a cozy, warm family home with plenty of space for all of our family. The neighbours are all friendly - we have a good community atmosphere. We also have an allotment at the end of the road which adds to the community feel. So why do we want to sell? We own a house in France and want to start a new life in France. Therefore, no onward chain.

This house has a lovely feel to it and even though it is close to all the main transport links, there is very little noise. There are large windows and patio doors which means there is a lot of natural light all year. It is incredibly cheap to run and easy to keep clean. The back garden gets sunshine all day, with the majority of sunshine on the patio in the morning. The open fire makes it snug in the winter.

Currently in need of renovation and arranged as 3 apartments, this is a beautiful Provencal stone property, built in 1819, close to Vaison la Romaine in South East France. The property is versatile enough that it could either make a very nice second home or could be used as a business with gites or chambers d'hotes particularly as there is a lack of highquality accommodation in the area. The house is not isolated.

Pleasant area with good schools and good connections with motorways and trains makes traveling to work very easy no matter where you are. The house has 3 good sized double bedrooms - no box room like most 3 beds. South facing garden has a large decked area and a lawn area with is not yet turfed as it was landscaped too late in 2010. I am moving to France and, if it was possible, I would take my lovely property with me. Built in 1914, it has retained it's character and is very welcoming. When the weather is fine, the living area extends to the patio and walled garden, giving a Mediterranean feel - wonderful for entertaining. In the winter the house is very comfortable, we often have an open fire. You have to visit this house to get the warm feeling.

What the Owner says:We moved from Saltdean and when we first saw the house we could not believe the size of the rooms.
